  • "Without Penelope Wasserman's Pilates classes, I would not be the active 86-year old that I am. While Penelope cannot reverse aging, she can help keep one flexible and mobile. I thank her every day."

    — Ann Connolly

  • "You are such a talented teacher, I go into a trance in your class, and I feel like I just float through it. I feel like I am understanding the neutral pelvis, and applying it better."

  • "To Penelope Wasserman, the founder of Million Dollar Bones, thank you for reviewing this manuscript. Your input and edits were invaluable. Without your insights, Chapter 8 (Too Fit to Fracture) would have been missing important information."

  • "My name is David Sabih, I've been taking Pilates for over 50 years. And I go to classes at the Carmel Valley Athletic Club 3 times a week, but you're the best of the best! Thanks for teaching us!

  • "Two years ago, I developed a stress fracture in one foot and then plantar fasciitis in both feet. To help me and others, Penny took a multi-day class with a nationally recognized movement expert. Penny learned, my foot strength and flexibility have improved. I have even "found" my pinkie toes (which have been hiding for years under my fourth toes) which has helped both my gait and balance."

  • "Penelope Wasserman developed a gentle Pilates routine for me in 2014. My challenges are osteoporosis and some partial paralysis in my right leg as a result of childhood polio. Penelope's routine, which I do 5 to 7 times per week, has rewarded me with good posture, strong abdominal muscles, improved balance, and a 6.5% improvement in my bone density score (as of 2/22). Thinking of you as I do my home practice routine and remembering what a great day January 13, 2014 was - the day I learned about you!!!"

  • "Penelope Wasserman set the tone for a national retreat on food and sustainability at Hancock Shaker Village on 7/20/18 in Pittsfield, MA with her unique session that blended our sense of taste, awareness of our bodies, and intentional focus. From vinegar to chocolate, she helped us understand how our bodies appreciate and let us know so much more than we realize about what we eat, and also how to listen more closely and better care for ourselves."

  • "Since I have been instructing MDB (fka IAA) classes after studying with Penelope, my clients with chronic pain walk away from class feeling much better. They tell me they have less discomfort and their spirits are lifted. Generally, clients who are in pain as they work out become frustrated and depressed. My goal is to have clients feel empowered after exercise class so they can continue to strengthen their core muscles. MDB is the foundation of core awareness, which is overlooked in most exercise classes."

    — Sharon O’Meara, Pilates Instructor and Licensed Massage Therapist

  • "I have been using MDB (aka IAA) in my chiropractic practice with most of my patients. I think it is really important to have neutral alignment and to activate the core, so I've taught everyone including those who are athletic. We have to peel back and make sure that they are doing things correctly before they do more challenging exercises. And of course we are using it on many of our patients who have low bone density and they all absolutely love it and they tell us that they are feeling better especially when they are doing these exercise at home."

  • "When I met with Penelope over five years ago, I was suffering from injuries on my ankles and feet. As an adult learner of dance, I was not well-versed in protecting my body while moving to the music and was in excruciating pain. Studying Gentle Pilates with Penelope helped me not only to heal from my injuries but also learn to honor and work at my body's own pace. Penelope's holistic approach in our sessions expanded my mobility and strength as a dancer, and elevated my quality of life beyond what I could imagine. I strongly recommend people of all shapes, sizes, strength, and age connect with Penelope."

  • "Penelope spoke at our meeting for Massachusetts Association for Insurance Women about balanced wellness in the workplace. Most of us sit all day and have experienced some sort of discomfort. With our demanding careers, the stress can cause shoulder and back pain, headaches, or fatigue. Penelope engaged us in fun activities by showing us relevant and subtle movements to realign our posture and relax us. She shared helpful thought processes to help revitalize us during the work day. The feedback from our members was tremendous! We plan to have her back again. Thank you Penelope!

    — Gina Magnan, Director Berkshire MAIW

  • "Since I attended the MDB (fka IAA) workshop last Spring, it has changed how I manage my patients in my chiropractic practice. I have always done core strength exercises with my patients but now the first exercises I teach are the foundational movements of MDB. It is simple to integrate and patients improve faster. This is a perfect transition to a guided MDB class. I highly recommend this program to anyone but especially healthcare professionals."

  • "This is exactly the class that I have been searching for! I have been taking group mat classes as well as private Pilates sessions with Penelope for about 3 months now and I can't say enough good things. Penelope's class is restorative, gentle, and slow paced. You actually get to make sure that you are doing things correctly, that you are aligned, that you are using your core or "power house" properly to get the most out of movements. I feel so good after each class, I feel more connected to my body and that I've done something really nice for myself. My only request is that there would be more classes each week! Penelope is also a true Pilates practitioner, she's not just providing a HIT class that is Pilates inspired, she uses Joseph pilates' methods and training to help you take care of and improve your body in effective ways. Penelope is so knowledgeable about the way the body works. She enjoys working with everyone and meeting you where you are at. I have seen her work with people of all different skill levels and abilities, she has modifications for anyone who needs them and props to support you if you have any soreness. She enjoys the puzzle of figuring out how to help you get stronger and more competent in using your own body. I recommend this class to everyone. I have literally told everyone about it. My family members and coworkers have since joined class and they love it too!"
